Video Infrastructure

Our entire school is wired with cable television. Each High School and Middle School classroom is equiped with 32" T.V.'s and a VCR, at our elementary all classrooms have a 27" hanging T.V. and VCR. All T.V.'s receive Insight Cables channel lineup.

Our Elementary, Middle, and High School Offices all have a character Generator which they use to relay messages to students and teachers. Some of the information includes the daily lunch menu, sporting events, etc...

Our High School also has a Television Production Studio, WAHS Studio. The Telecommunications Class consist of ten to twelve students who produce a short news program three times a week. The class covers daily announcements as well as video footage for sporting events and classroom events.

In July 2003 we started building a Mobile Production Van. You can find out more information on it by clicking here.

Our School District also operates the local Community Access Channel for Insight Communications. The channel consist of many non-profit announcements for the community, obituaries, and a place for local businesses to advertise. We also broadcast many live events on the Community Channel, AHS Boys & Girls Basketball Games, AHS Veterans Day Program, AHS Graduation, AREC Soar Awards, Christmas Celebration Music Concert, Kids First Charity Auction, The Scottsburg Mayor's Good Neighbor Awards and more. We currently have one church that airs a thirty minute program, Celebrate Jesus, each week.

State Representatives Dennie Oxley and Terry Goodin produce ten minute tapes each week they are in session that air on Sundays to inform the residents of Scott County what is going on at the State House.
